Who is eligible?

The artist must live, own property, work, or be a student in Allegany, Garrett or Washington Counties, or within a 50-mile radius of Cumberland.

Bring 3-6 pieces of your art to the gallery to be juried. If you work in only one medium, threepieces are sufficient.  Make sure that the pieces submitted are representative of your typical work.   If you work in more than one media, you may bring works representing up to three different mediums (but no more than 6 pieces total.)  Be prepared to leave your work for at least a week.  Make sure that your work looks professional and is ready to exhibit.

There is a $25.00 jurying fee.   This is non-refundable, whether you are accepted or not.

Someone from the gallery will call you to pick up your work after jurying is completed.   If you are accepted, you will be required to do the following:

1.

Pay a $25.00 annual membership fee (this is in addition to the one-time jurying fee.)

2.

Prepare a biography and include a photograph of yourself or your work or a combination of the two to be used for publicity.  In addition, include at least one photograph and up to ten of your work for the gallery website.  Make sure this is turned in within one week after you are accepted.

3.

Work as a gallery sitter (or pay someone else to do it on your behalf) for 8 hours per month in two four-hour shifts or one 8 hour shift.

4.

Attend the membership meetings.

5.

30% of your sales will go to the operating expenses of the gallery.

6.

Abide by the rules of the gallery and the committees' rules (membership, hanging, etc.)

7.

Enjoy your new found opportunity to exhibit and sell your work in addition to having a lot of laughs and fun working along side some pretty terrific fellow artists.
